Oka Crisis 

Imperialism affected the First Nations becuase after Jacques Cartier came to Canada in 1534, Europeans started treating Native people and Native land as lesser value than them. They slaughtered millions of Natives, and controlled every part of their lives including culture, traditions, clothing and language. The way they treat the aborigines now a days is still unfair, but people are starting to recognize them as the foundation of their country and passing laws to make sure their culutre stays alive. The First Nations used protests and violence in order to have a voice over their land.
